Infrastructure grants for US airports

19 July 2019

The United States’ Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is awarding infrastructure grants worth a total of $495 million as part of Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding. 327 airports spread across 46 states and the Pacific Islands will receive grants, including $65 million to partially reimburse runway construction at Chicago O’Hare and $4.7 million for a deicing facility at Eagle Country Regional in Colorado. Other projects include maintenance of taxiways and terminals. Total AIP funding will reach $3.18 billion.

“This significant investment in airport improvements will fund construction and rehabilitation projects that will help maintain high levels of safety in U.S. aviation,” commented Elaine L. Chao, U.S. Department of Transportation secretary.
