Edinburgh Airport continues to improve accessible facilities

25 July 2019

A Changing Places room has opened at Edinburgh airport, providing improved restroom facilities for passengers with physical disabilities and additional needs. The airport already offers an app, Welcome by Neatebox, which allows for the provision of personalised assistance. Edinburgh was recently rated ‘Very Good’ for accessibility in a survey conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority.

“We are always looking at ways to enhance the experience for all passengers and we’re really happy to see the Changing Places facility coming into use. It provides additional facilities for passengers with additional needs and their carers, providing a space which they can use if required and which is closely located to the Special Assistance waiting area,” said chief executive Gordon Dewar.

“More than 95,000 passengers a year require additional help when travelling through our airport so it’s incumbent upon us to make that journey memorable for all the right reasons by continually improving our Passengers with Reduced Mobility and Special Assistance offering.”
