29 August, we inaugurated at the airport Tolmachevo a new factory complex for in-flight catering. We would like to remind you, that the event dedicated to the beginning of the construction of the new complex was held exactly a year ago - on 29 August 2018.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov, the regional Executive Director of LSG Sky Chefs for operating activities in Africa, Eastern Europe, India, the Middle East and Turkey, Alfred Rigler, the General Director of LLC "Novaport Holding", Sergey Rudakov, the General Director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo", Evgeniy Yankilevich, representatives of airline partners of Tolmachevo airport and other officials.
The new in-flight catering facility covers an area of more than 5 thousand square meters; it is equipped with modern high-tech equipment and is the largest enterprise beyond the Urals, providing aviation catering services. The design capacity of the factory is 16 thousand food rations per day; the number of jobs is 350 with the prospect of increasing to 500.
This project has been implemented in the framework of cooperation between the Novaport airport holding and one of the world's leading manufacturers and operators in the field of in-flight catering LSG Sky Chefs. The sum of investments in the project amounted to 600 million rubles.
"The construction of this facility is an important stage in the further development of the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo international airport named after Alexander Ivanovich Pokryshkin. Already today, our air hub is surpassing other airports of Siberia and the Far East in a number of indicators. In order to maintain leadership positions and to continue developing the airport as an interregional hub, it is necessary to create comfortable conditions for passengers and employees of companies and enterprises working at the airport. It is necessary not just to increase production capacity in all key areas, but also to stay ahead. Of course, we are focusing in this development on a big international event -- the Youth ice hockey world championship in 2023. It is important for us to achieve a strategic effect for a development of the country's largest aviation hub outside the Moscow Air Cluster. In this regard, we have a lot of associated tasks to ensure and develop the transport, logistics and social infrastructure of the hub", Andrei Travnikov said.
Alfred Rigler thanked all the partners in the construction project of the new terminal, wishing the successful development of the in-flight catering facility of the Tolmachevo airport. "Our cooperation with the company LLC "Novaport Holding" allows providing passengers with services to ensure in-flight meals, corresponding to the world standards of aviation catering. We are confident that joint projects will be further developed", -- said Mr. Rigler.
The General Director of LLC "Novaport Holding" Mr. Sergey Rudakov has thanked the government of the Novosibirsk region, stressing that the land and property issues can be quickly solved in partnership with the regional government, as well as the tasks of connecting to the power and heating networks, and other administrative issues.
"The launch of the new terminal is one of the action items within the large-scale development program of the Tolmachevo airport, including a creation of fundamentally new conditions for passengers, airlines, shippers and other partners. Works on the creation of new and reconstruction of existing airport facilities are being performed at a high speed. Thus, the reconstruction of the airport landside - the pre-construction stage of reconstruction of the airport terminal -- is being planned to be completed by the end of this year, at the beginning of next year, we are going to begin construction of a new passenger terminal', -- said Sergey Rudakov.
