The HI-SCAN 7555 DV automatically screens for explosives at checkpoints across airports, ports and borders, building entrances and entertainment venues

Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and security screening technologies, today announces that the HI-SCAN 7555 DV has been approved as an explosive detection system for cabin baggage according to the CB C1 standard by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC). The certified automated explosives detection algorithm used by the HI-SCAN 7555 DV scanner eliminates the need for random searches using additional explosive trace detectors or dogs. This streamlines the security screening process and increases passenger throughput and improves passenger experience.

A dual-view X-ray scanner, the HI-SCAN 7555 DV delivers superior image quality, and automatic explosives detection, to provide efficient screening in high threat applications. With a compact footprint, the HI-SCAN 7555 DV has been designed to be easily integrated into both Smiths Detection and third-party lanes, and is ideal for high-throughput environments such as passenger or staff security screening checkpoints at airports.

The HI-SCAN 7555 DV ECAC EDS CB C1 certified algorithm can also be enhanced with Smiths Detection’s iCMORE Weapons smart and adaptable algorithm software, which increases safety through the automatic detection of guns, knives and ammunition. The scanner is compatible with Checkpoint.Evoplus, Smiths Detection’s central screening and digital management solution, which offers real-time data, allowing actionable insights and health status monitoring.

With this certification, the HI-SCAN 7555 DV complements our portfolio of airport checkpoint solutions, as the HI-SCAN 6040 DV is already ECAC EDS CB C1 and LEDS Std. 2 certified.
