Philadelphia Airport renews multimillion-dollar contract with Hill

7 August 2018

Construction risk manager Hill International has announced that the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Aviation (DOA) renewed its contract with Hill to continue supporting the $2.375bn, multi-year capital development programme of Philadelphia International Airport.

Extension of the eighth, multi-year contract allows Hill to continue providing effective planning, implementation, and control support for PHL’s capital development programme, with emphasis on project and financial controls.

The programme includes investment of more than $700m in airfield and over $1.3bn in terminal and landside access projects.

The work supports PHL’s growth and economic impact on the region, as the airport serves nearly 30 million commercial passengers annually, offering more than 1,000 daily flights to 130 national and international non-stop destinations.

Hill’s services will include capital programme administration, which involves planning and implementing the yearly capital budget of DOA; assisting with programme financial control from various funding sources, including grants from federal and state entities; coordinating and assisting with commercial paper and bond takeouts; and CFC and PFC management.

The company will also maintain and update the existing programme management system, coordinate and assist with consultant selection, coordinate and assist with procuring public works bids, coordinate project controls, and manage tenant permits.

Hill’s Project Management Group Americas regional president Michael Griffin said: “For years Hill has provided specialized services to assist our partners at Philadelphia International Airport and the Division of Aviation manage and control complex programs and projects with far-ranging economic impacts.

“We will build on our extensive knowledge and experience to allow Philadelphia International Airport to continue its impressive and vital growth.”

With more than 3,000 professionals in 50 offices worldwide, Hill International provides programme management, project management, construction management and other consulting services to clients in a variety of market sectors.

Engineering News-Record magazine had recently ranked Hill as the eighth-largest construction management firm in the US.
