Tuesday, April 24, 2012 by Vanderlande

Vanderlande Industries has opened a new office in Sydney in response to the increasing demand for smart material-handling solutions in Australia. This new location will enable Vanderlande to further strengthen its presence on the Australian and Asia-Pacific markets, and to provide the most efficient possible locally-based customer support.

Heading the Vanderlande team at the new Sydney location are local Australian Mr. Rob Harvey, area director SE Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Roald de Groot, who will shortly join him from Vanderlande's head office in the Netherlands as area manager distribution, and parcel and postal. Rob Harvey will focus on baggage handling solutions in the South East Asia and Pacific region, while Roald de Groot will be responsible for all distribution and parcel and postal related material handling solutions in Australia and New Zealand.

"Vanderlande is a strong believer in designing solutions in close cooperation with its customers", says Jan Hulsmann, managing director distribution and parcel and postal at Vanderlande Industries. "The opening of our new location in Sydney is an important step to enable us to work more closely together with our customers in the Asia-Pacific region. This local presence will also be an essential asset in further strengthening our customer support, with the ability to respond rapidly to their operational and maintenance needs."

"The Asia Pacific market will be key in the continued growth of Vanderlande. This follows recent sales in Indonesia and our existing customers in Australia, for example including TNT and Sydney Airport Corporation", says Rob Harvey. "The investment by Vanderlande here gives us fantastic opportunities to continue our growth in Australia and the whole of the Asia-Pacific region".
