Vanderlande Industries Upgrade to Automatic Sorting with Baxorter for Danang International Airport

Veghel – Vanderlande Industries has been awarded the contract for an upgrade to automatic sorting with Baxorter for Danang International Airport in Vietnam. This demonstrates that even regional airports of a modest size see the benefits in automating their baggage handling process with Baxorter.

In February of this year, Vanderlande Industries was proud to announce the contract for a new BHS for the new international passenger building at Danang Airport by the Airport Authorities of Vietnam. The extension of this system with a Baxorter demonstrates that regional airports handling volumes of two to four million passengers per year can also profit from automation benefits such as operational cost reduction and efficient and gentle bag handling. It also is the first automated baggage handling system for a regional airport in Vietnam.

The positive and predictable sorting principle of the Baxorter makes it also an ideal application for screening systems where full tracking of cleared and uncleared bags must be guaranteed. The premium sorting quality in combination with a high proven operational availability of the sorter has led the Vietnam Airport Authorities to the decision to invest in automated baggage handling.

After completion of the project, Vanderlande Industries will conduct monthly preventive maintenance inspections during the two years warranty period.

The project will become operational before the end of 2010.
