Nerak is a world-leading specialist in fully automated vertical conveying of loose baggage and baggage-in trays in standard (IG) and oversize (OOG). Whenever airport baggage handling systems operate between several levels, Nerak Continuous Vertical Conveyor (CVCD) as well as Reciprocating Lifts (RL) are the space saving solution for high capacity transport of loose baggage and trays between the different levels.
Installation of Nerak vertical conveying equipment might be right after check in on each counter with reciprocating lifts, or at the end of a check in collector belt with high capacity continuous vertical conveyor.
S-shaped or C-shaped continuous airport vertical conveyors save up to 85 % of valuable space versus traditional inclining conveyor or spiral lifts. This free space may be used for additional process equipment. CVC allow more flexibility in designing a baggage handling system, because baggage handling systems can be more easily adjusted to existing building restrictions.
Nerak Rubber Block Chains (RBC) with internal, pre-stressed steel cables as the load carrying member provide multiple advantages for integrator as well as for end user:
Nerak's CVC vertical baggage conveyors are manufactured for the high volume movement of loose baggage between multiple levels. Available up to 40m in height, the equipment can process an impressive 1,400 items per hour.
Specially designed with built-in cladding, Nerak's systems ensure the seamless transfer of luggage between different sections of your baggage handling system. The cladding prevents external baggage items, such as handles, labels and straps catching on the conveyor and causing disruption. This also eliminates the chance of luggage being lost at vertical conveyor sections.
Because of their continuous and controlled motion, Nerak vertical baggage conveyors benefit from excellent energy efficiency. Reduced power usage delivers lower operational expenses.
Vertical baggage transport between more than 2 levels or for lower capacity requirements can be done with Nerak lift PH411. A belt conveyor sized to the local requirements is attached to a carrier structure. This structure with the belt conveyor runs on two centred post. Avoiding bending moments into the carrier structure as well as clearly reducing wear on the guiding wheels, this new lift version reduces operating costs and power consumption.
Reciprocating Baggage Lifts by Nerak use rubber block chains (RBC) to ensure grease free and noise reduced operation. An optional electronic positioning system guaranties exact positioning in every level, despite of the actual load.
A fully integrated frame made of steel square tube brings stability up to 40 m height. Cladding with perforated metal sheet on full height provides an integrated enclosure to avoid the need of an external fence around the lift and the extra need of valuable space.
The CVC is designed for high capacity transportation of baggage trays between 2 levels, on a small footprint. It can be built with heights up to 40m. Capacity can be up to 1,200 trays per hour.
The vertical baggage tray conveyor operates is energy efficient with a single, comparable small motor reducer. This assures little power consumption and therefore little operational costs. Connection to the power supply is fast and easy. The CVC has only a few light sensors that usually are controlled by the system PLC, so separate PLC is not necessary.
Nerak provides assembling and installation support with well experienced supervisor. Professional work on site includes supervising of unloading and unpacking, correct assembling and installation based on Nerak installation manual, test run and training for operator and maintenance personal.
