Coastal Environmental Systems - Keep a watch on the weather

Coastal Environmental Systems' automated weather observing systems (AWOS) measure and report weather data at permanent, mobile and portable airfields. Completely scalable and built to minimise risks, Coastal's AWOS have the flexibility to handle any current or conceivable weather sensor. Data reporting is available in METAR, SPECI, SYNOP and local formats.

Coastal AWOS can have up to ten sensor groups (full/partial) on one or multiple runways. Data is collected and processed by a server, then displayed anywhere via web or LAN and sent as a voice output for broadcast to pilots.Since the AWOS integrate with virtually any sensor, Coastal's systems are configured with meteorological sensors that optimally meet your specific requirements.

Sensors include wind speed/direction, redundant altimeter, relative humidity, air temperature, visibility, freezing rain, cloud height and cover, precipitation type and amount, lightning and thunderstorm detection, and runway visual range. Optionally, many other measurements can be - and are - made.

Through Coastal's web-based Aviation INTERCEPT software, users can view the most current observation, review logged data, edit reports, set local weather alerts, monitor performance and monitor maintenance remotely.

With 30 years' experience in meteorological systems integration, Coastal systems operate on every continent and in every environment, including the South Pole and the Sahara Desert. The company's core expertise is making weather monitoring systems that work anywhere all the time, are intuitive to set up and use, and require minimal maintenance. Coastal works closely with customers and is highly skilled at overcoming local infrastructure challenges. It provides installation, technical support and training. Systems are approved by the FAA and NWS, and are FMH-1/ICAO compliant.

Who depends on Coastal aviation weather stations and where? The US Air Force, NAV CANADA, Indonesia (in civil and military domains), Poland, Hong Kong, Nigeria, NASA, the FAA and the South Pole, to name just a few.
